Burp Cloths and Bibs
Materials: Preferably use flannel, but cotton may also be used.
Machine: Sewing machine.
Color: You can use fabric of any color or print.
Size:
Burps should be 6” to 9” wide and 14” to 18” in length.
Bibs should be 7.5” to 9” wide and 10.5” to 12” in length.
Pattern: Various patterns are available. You can contact a work group coordinator if you need assistance.
Finish: After turning the item right side out, top stitch around the edge about 1/8th to 1/4th from the edge, ensuring the opening left when turning is closed up.
Washing:
Finished bibs and burps must be washed.
Please use a “color catcher” in the washer if the fabric has colors that are likely to run.
Do not use fabric softener in the washer or dryer.
After washing/drying please check the burp/bib for loose threads, open seams, pins, etc.
Notes: be cautious using directional prints when making bibs. The front and back should both be in the same direction when the print going from top to bottom when the bib is held up.
